Waste & Recycling Working Group
ConcernLow residential recycling rates and illegal dumping are two areas of concern within the City of Camden.
GoalsTo facilitate practices that minimize and recycle waste products and deter residents and visitors from illegal dumping, establish a "zero waste" goal by educating residents and simplifying the recycling process.

Accomplishments1. Recycling specification modified to obtain more advantageous contract.
2. Undertook partnerships with the Camden County Police Department (CCPD) to begin reducing illegal dumping. 3. Assisted with partnership between the City of Camden and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) for NJDEP's pilot illegal dumping program which resulted in the clean-up of one of the State's largest illegal dumping hotspots. |
